Reception: March 30, 2 - 4 pm

The current show at The Deines Cultural Center is featuring “Today’s Young Artists” an exhibit of art in a variety of media by students in U-S-D 407.  The art is from students attending Simpson and Bickerdyke Elementary Schools and Ruppenthal Middle School in Russell, Russell High School, Luray-Lucas Elementary and Lucas-Luray Junior High and High School. District 407 students receive art education from Andrea Blehm (RHS), Cindy Balthazor (RMS), and Carolyn Bigham (K-12 Lucas & Luray). Russell elementary students are taught art by their classroom teachers and have prepared special projects for this exhibit.  Each class will have a project exhibited in the “Young at Art” gallery on the lower level of the Deines Cultural Center.

The multi-media show, sponsored by The Russell Arts Council and The Kansas Arts Commission opens Sunday, March 30th with a reception from 2 to 4 pm at The Deines Cultural Center for the students, their parents, teachers and friends. The public is invited to view the work of “Today’s Young Artists” which will be up through April 30th.
