  • Jerry Weaver, Native American Drums
View a display of twenty Native American drums made by Jerry Weaver who is of Cherokee decent. With a background in music, a successful career in architecture, and maintaining an art gallery and studio working in several media, Jerry Weaver began making drums in 1994. A debilitating stroke followed but several months after the stroke, he was again able to resume carving, and he credits his recovery of body and spirit to this traditional instrument of healing.

Jerry's drums are inspired not only by his wide background in art, design, and music, but also by his Cherokee ancestors.  The weathered cottonwood logs that he hand carves come from the banks of the Arkansas River which flows through the area.  His drums are sold in fine galleries in Taos, Santa Fe, and throughout the southwest.
